HEIDENHAIN and LEINE LINDE at WindEnergy 2026

By incorporating encoders into a wind turbine's generator, pitch system, and yaw system, or by installing strain sensors onto the tower and rotor blades, operators can significantly increase their energy yield in both onshore and offshore environments. The extensive data they receive also enables predictive maintenance planning, helping them to protect these valuable assets.

Discover solutions from HEIDENHAIN, LEINE LINDE, AMO, and LTN at our combined trade-show exhibition. Benefit from the longstanding experience of the HEIDENHAIN CORPORATE GROUP in the field of position measurement, motor feedback, and structural monitoring.

Sept. 22–25, 2026 | Main exhibit: Hall B6, Booth 305

Tower and rotor blades

Know blade loads. Control performance.

The ESR strain sensors from HEIDENHAIN deliver real-time data for implementing active load control, lower structural loads, and higher annual energy production.

Generator and drive train

Measure speed. Detect wear.

ADS Uptime from LEINE LINDE combines generator speed feedback and vibration monitoring in one device without external sensors.

Yaw and pitch systems

Keep yaw and pitch drives running

The HEIDENHAIN ECI 1323 Splus and EQI 1335 Splus inductive rotary encoders feature accelerometers that support condition-based maintenance by tracking vibration.

Yaw and pitch systems

Precise position data. Maximum availability.

The FSI safety encoder series from LEINE LINDE delivers safety-rated position information for the controlled operation of wind turbines.

Wind energy at HEIDENHAIN

Wind energy is a timely topic for HEIDENHAIN in more ways than one! This summer, we commissioned two wind turbines of our own at our company headquarters in Traunreut, Germany. Their combined yield is expected to cover one third of our annual electricity needs.

But we are also using these wind turbines to test a variety of our measurement and feedback solutions:

  • Rotary encoders for optimally adjusting the rotor-blade pitch
  • Rotary encoders for tracking the azimuth rotation of the nacelle
  • Strain sensors for measuring loads acting on the tower and rotor blades

Track rotor loads. Control yield.

The ESR strain sensor from HEIDENHAIN delivers real-time data for implementing active load control, reduced structural loading, and high annual energy yields. Protect your wind assets through optimal system efficiency and a maximum service life thanks to high-accuracy load feedback.

Your benefits:

  • Easy installation and cabling
  • Robust design with long service life
  • High signal quality for all sensors within the system

Measure speed. Detect wear.

LEINE LINDE ADS Uptime offers all-in-one generator speed feedback and vibration analysis without additional sensors. Its built-in rotary-encoder diagnostics ensure that parameters related to operation, the ambient environment, and the mechanical system are continuously monitored.

Maximum availability

Thanks to a built-in accelerometer, the ECI 1323 Splus and EQI 1335 Splus rotary encoders from HEIDENHAIN enable all-in-one position feedback and vibration analysis for rotating machine components. By detecting and analyzing vibrations at an early stage, these encoders support tailored online condition monitoring for heavy-duty equipment.

LEINE LINDE rotary encoders for functionally safe applications

The FSI family of encoders from LEINE LINDE delivers safety-relevant position data for the controlled operation of wind turbines. With ratings up to SIL 3 and PL e, these encoders ensure dependable motion monitoring in a wide variety of demanding applications.

The FSI family encompasses the FSI 600, 800, and 900 series, offering scalable safety solutions for industrial automation applications. The FSI 600 series provides SIL 3/PL e-certified absolute encoders with safe fieldbus communication. The FSI 800 series, meanwhile, provides heavy-duty incremental encoders for safe speed feedback in demanding servomotor applications. Finally, the FSI 900 series combines motion feedback with a built-in, standalone safety system.

All three series of FSI encoders enable reliable, safety-certified motion control for a variety of industrial applications.
